Time Travel

Experience Avaldsnes and Nordvegen History Centre to explore the history of Norway.  Visit the Viking farm - and voilà, you'll feel like you travelled in time, back to the Viking Age!

Meet Vikings for activities and guided tours every day from mid-June to mid-August at the Viking farm. Fun for the little ones with an activity book or solving the puzzle Viking hunt. The largest Viking festival in Western Norway takes off the first week of June. At Avaldsnes you can also join a guided tour of the medieval Royal Farm ruins and St. Olav's Church. And accompany pilgrim Siv on a theatrical walk year 1308.

You can explore the mining area at Visnes with a historical walk along with the miner and the functionary's wife, Sundays in July.

In Åkrehamn, you can also meet the herring worker on a theatrical walk in the town, and the fisherman on M/S RIMA during Fishery Days and the weekend after, in August.

Explore the idyllic streets of Skudeneshavn

There is always something new to discover in the town; pop-up shops, antique trading, art exhibitions – and newly blossomed roses.

Extra life and excitement come with the Skudefestival during the first weekend of July; with boats, coastal culture, concerts, and activities!

Come and see Skudeneshavn's golden age unfold, more than 100 years later! Every Saturday in July, you can follow actors on an exciting journey. Here you will be acquainted with the city's development from various viewpoints.

Take a digital tour with the Time Travel app. Skudeneshavn museum houses much of interest and offers guided tours in the town and at Syreneset Fort. The magical little world of Skude miniature is well worth a visit.

The archipelago can be experienced with SUP from Saltråk, on a harbour tour with a skipper, and in a rowboat from the tourist office. Bicycles and electric two-seater Twizys for rent. Jump in the sea and warm up in the sauna at BadeOlena. Exciting hiking terrain, with Røyningsbu open on Sundays.

Childish fun

Have you been to the fairytale forest on Lindøy, Fosen? An enjoyable area with a shelter, barbecue facilities, beach, sand volleyball, and climbing ropes. Lindøy is a popular place for berry picking and fishing, with a bit of luck you can catch sea trout on the hook. The area can also be explored by sea with a rented canoe, and a short drive away waits an exciting cave safari on Fosen.

Meet the animals at Haugaland Zoo - Karmøy's exciting zoo! The large and extensive park is located in Torvastad.

Go on an Adventure Hunt - an activity puzzle for adventurers visiting Skudeneshavn, Åkrehamn, Visnes, or Kopervik.

Karmøy`s Blue Flag beaches invites you to white sand and clear water, and are ideal for swimming, sandcastle building and kite flying. On the warm beautiful days, you can buy ice cream at the beach bar and local European Champion organizes windsurfing courses (both at Åkrasanden).
